Why should you choose Cornerstone Home Inspection Services?

My Qualifications didn’t come from a book or simply taking classes and passing a test.

I have personally done over 1,000 paid home inspections, throughout Oregon, as well as doing all phases of residential and some commercial construction.

Although I have passed each test for Oregon Certification and continue to take ongoing continuing education classes, those are only the minimum.  Starting in 1980 doing remodeling and damage repair, new construction, weatherization, roofing and remodeling I learned by experience how things go together and work, as well as how people can cut corners and hide poor quality and unsafe workmanship. I have seen non-licensed persons causing more damage than imaginable, and hide improper workmanship, often working without permits.

If you want a home inspector who treats your home like his own, and will work with you to understand how things are working as well as how to fix many of the things that need attention, my background and ongoing construction experience will give you a most complete, thorough and understandable evaluation of your perspective home investment.

I also provide maintenance inspections for homeowners who have been in their home for several years and just want to know how to fix things as well as help them find potential damage before it becomes major damage.

My Oregon contractor’s license is ccb 129609

My Oregon Home Inspector Certification number is 0226

I’m a member of the Oregon Real Estate Inspectors Association and

NACHI the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors

Testimonials

Cornerstone Home Inspection, Kirk Hansen

I’ve used Kirk on two different occasions for home inspections; once when I was buying a house and most recently when my Mother decided to sell her house.

My Mother was apprehensive about paying for an inspection but I wanted to make sure there were no surprises if a buyer made an offer on her house.  As it turns out, we should’ve had the inspection done years earlier because during his inspection Kirk found a 10” heating duct that had pulled loose and was venting hot/cold air directly into the crawlspace instead of into the house!  Who knows how long she had been wasting money on heating and cooling the great outdoors but from appearances it had been several years.

He also found a few other minor issues that we were able to repair easily instead of being surprised by a potential buyer’s inspector.

I am very satisfied with Kirk and his professionalism and I will recommend and use his services in the future.

Sincerely,

Jason B, Beaverton, Oregon

We purchased our home eight years ago and wanted to make sure there were not any issues that had developed as the house aged.  Kirk came out to our home, investigated the perimeter, the garage, every room in the house the attic and the crawlspace.  Upon completion he provided us with a detailed inspection along with dozens of pictures which revealed among other things, a leaking pipe under our house.

We called our plumber who informed us that this leaking ‘hot water’ pipe was possibly days away from bursting and flooding our crawlspace with water directly from the hot water tank.  Thanks Kirk for helping us avoid a horrible mess and for saving us thousands of dollars.

Sincerely,

Scott L.
